Run a Hidden Gem – Condor 25K Trail Run

The crisp early mornings and scattered golden leaves that blanket the Willamette Valley after the first frost of autumn, beckon runners to the forests of Corvallis, Oregon the first weekend in October. Now in its 10th year, the Condor 25k Trail Run is one of Oregon’s hidden gems on the trail running race circuit each fall.

The course incorporates a diverse network of rolling single track trails and logging roads that meander through the McDonald Forest, with runners supported by three full aid stations as they ascend and descend approximately 2600’ of elevation.

Most important is the fact that the Condor 25k Trail Run is held annually as a tribute to Oregon ultrarunning community’s late Dave “Condor” Bateham. Known for his agile running, community leadership, and altruistic spirit, the selfless nature of Condor himself rests in the hearts of all who toe the starting line of this event each year.

Condor 25K Trail Run is part of the 2023 Corvallis Trail Series (CTS). The series aims to increase interest in trail running and support local trail races in a comprehensive series of events. It highlights the extensive trail network around Corvallis, providing opportunities for runners of all abilities.

As in previous years proceeds will go toward local trail building efforts and a small part to Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit (CMRU). Condor is a non-profit race and part of Corvallis Area Trailrunners.

Registration is available online for $60 and comes with a heavy cotton hoodie (while supply lasts).
