Strava Segment of the Weekend: PRC Winter 5k

This weekend is the final race in the PRC Winter 5K Race Series and so we’re highlighting that route as this week’s Strava Segment of the Week. The PRC Winter 5k segment is a great segment to try out, even if you’re not running in this race series, because it can be run with minimal driveway crossings and only one street crossing over a very low-traffic street. This means it’s a nice 5k route to have in your pocket to practice race strategies.

The segment starts at the start line on SW Gemini Drive in Beaverton and follows it to Nimbus, then turns on Stratus before heading into the Greenway. From there, it continues on the paved path before hitting the turnaround and retracing back to the finish.

Give it a try! And, if you’re so inclined, here’s the link to sign up for the February PRC 5k race. Run Oregon is constantly out at these, so check out any number of our recaps!

Also, if you use Strava (or want to get started – it’s free!) please join the Run Oregon club! We currently have over 800 members! It’s a fun way to keep track of your miles and see how others in the area are doing.

Strava is an online training and racing log for runners and cyclists. The basic account is free and requires you to create a login. Note that this is not sponsored by Strava, nor endorsed or supported in any way by Strava. It’s just a fun thing we’re going to do to give some speedy shout-outs to area runners and pose a challenge to those of you willing to take on their segment.
