The Post Canyon Half Marathon is quickly approaching. This race takes place on August 19th in the beautiful town of Hood River, Oregon. If you like tough, unpredictable and epic races, this is the one for you! With noted uneven terrain and lots of twists and turns along the course, this race promises to give you an adventure and certainly bragging rights.
The race weaves its way around a big tree farm with lots of ups and downs. The race begins at 7:00AM and runners will have 2,300 feet of elevation gain ahead of them. This course is tough but also beautiful, with boasting views and lots of hills.
Trail shoes are highly recommended and all runners are required to wear or carry 24 oz of water. This is a cupless race!! Runners are not allowed to wear headphones or bring dogs. Along the course, participants will see unicorns, gorillas, and other magical creatures as the volunteers dress up and make this a fully entertaining and unique event. The race starts and finishes in the same place, the Kingsley Reservoir, which you can cool off in with a nice swim.
All finishers also receive a finisher prize bag that DOUBLE exceeds the actual cost of your entry in retail value. Some racers will also get some bonus prizes from random contests which will range in value from $10 to $170.
Racers are encouraged to make a weekend of the race and stay on-site for first come, first serve camping for $10.
Packet pickup is the morning of the race starting at 6:00AM at the starting area.
