Haulin’ Aspen 2023 . . . Yes, Please!

It’s almost time for Lay It Out Events (LIOE) stellar summer trail race in Central Oregon. Haulin’ Aspen promises great trails, swag, scenery, and multiple distances to choose from. Run the Marathon, Half Marathon, or Half-As (6.5 miles) at the Wanoga Sno-Park outside of Bend. (Please carpool, due to limited parking.)

Check out our 2021 recap of the event here!

The routes include single track, double track, and forest service roads starting at 5500 feet. You’ll experience a variety of terrain, elevation, and the beauty of the Deschutes National Forest. Marathon runners – be prepared for a 700 foot elevation gain between mile 21.5 and 24!

There are plenty of aid stations along the routes, with the marathon having 6 total. Stations will be stocked with water, Go Gnarly electrolyte drink, and Gu gels. But it is recommended you also carry your own water, as it can be quite warm in August. Afterwards enjoy a post-race celebration with craft beers and food. There will be awards for the top 3 male and female winners in both open and master’s categories. And there will be goodie bags, swag, and a custom finisher medal for all!

Haulin’ Aspen will once again benefit the Bend Endurance Academy. The Academy provides athletic coaching, mentorship, educational experiences, volunteer opportunities for a diverse group of youth, young adults and other individuals to excel at endurance sports. Their mission is to promote healthy living through active, outdoor experiences. They emphasize teamwork, personal growth and community responsibility.

A super cool cause and a pretty cool trail race . . . I think you’d better get registered now!
