What Run Oregon is Wearing: Jack Wolfskin BAISELBERG Fleece Jacket

The chill is setting in here in the Pacific Northwest, and layers are the name of the game. Thankfully, Jack Wolfskin is one of those companies that’s around to take the bite out of the wind that often leaves you cold all day. The BAISELBERG Fleece Jacket will keep you motivated to not only get outside on the gray and cold days but to keep you warm once you’re out there.

I received the Women’s Long Sleeved Fleece Jacket in Granite Green, and it’s cheery and soft. It’s also available in Wild Berry, Blue Curacao, Pink Dahlia, and some other gorgeous colors that will inspire happiness on the worst of days. It’s got a high collar that will keep your neck warm and the wind out. Bear in mind that there are no pockets, but this lends to it’s slimming shape.

What’s great about the BAISELBERG Jacket is it can be worn over a tee shirt or by itself. It’s thick enough to keep you warm all by itself, but it’s stretchy enough to layer, which of course is what Oregonians are so good at doing since the weather changes on a dime. I wore this jacket for a recent weekend at the coast, and it kept me comfortably toasty on a typical PNW November day.

The outer surface of this jacket is smooth with a high quality feel. The inside is soft and fleecy, which feels fantastic on your skin. You can zip it all the way up to your chin or leave it open for a little ventilation. I personally could benefit from pockets for a bit of added storage, but that’s a personal preference. As mentioned previously, omitting the pockets does give it a more flattering shape, so pick your battles.

Additionally, Jack Wolfskin is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, and this article of clothing is 100% PFC Free.

The best thing about this jacket is that it’s POWER STRETCH FLEECE. Many fleece long sleeve tops don’t move with you when you layer them over something, but this one absolutely will, and it’s super comfortable. I got this pullover jacket in a medium, which is my true-to-size fit, and I wouldn’t recommend going any smaller. It’s meant to hug your frame, so it’s more fitted than some more relaxed-fit long sleeved pullovers would be.

Overall/For Consideration

If you’re looking to keep the wind out in style and comfort, the BAISELBERG Fleece Jacket will fit the bill. Jack Wolfskin’s German-engineered performance gear aims to perform well in the wild and this top is certainly is up to the task.
