Brooks Running Introduces The Sasquatch Collection

Louie Gong is an amazing Nooksack artist and the founder of Eighth Generation, which is a Seattle-based retailed that offers 100% Native-designed products. Brooks Running has collaborated with him for an amazing new collection that Run Oregon is excited to tell y’all about.. The Sasquatch Collection.

In one interpretation, Sasquatch is a shapeshifter who aims to protect those who love the land. Therefore Sasquatch, in Gong’s opinion, “serves as a reminder that when we run with respect for nature, it will reveal itself to us.”

The Sasquatch Collection includes shirts, socks, hats, and shoes, all offering Gong’s unique style. The shoe review will come a little later after some time on the trail, but check out some of the other cool stuff we got to try out below.

Distance Graphic Short Sleeve Shirt

Not only is this shirt fashionable enough to wear day to day, it’s also a great trail running shirt. I absolutely LOVE the design of the Sasquatch on this tee, and the shirt is super duper soft. It’s really kind of amazing that a shirt that feels so cottony also provides the sweat-wicking and quick-drying features of a running shirt.

Not only is this environmentally friendly shirt comfy, but I love the artistic style of Gong’s Sasquatch. The unique theme of licorice ferns and maple leave patterns are peppered throughout the whole collection.

Discovery Trucker Hat

Following the trend mentioned above, the hat is also pretty amazing. I personally love trucker hats and this is probably the most unique one I own to-date. Not only that, but it’s actually very comfortable, with a nice low-pressure brim and a relaxed fit that doesn’t cut into my forehead or make the tops of my ears hurt like some hats do. The tag attached to the trucker reads “We’ve done our job if you forget you’re wearing our gear.”

I also happen to think the Discovery Trucker looks pretty flattering as well. The sasquatch makes his appearance in the right hand corner amoung the nature-themed pattern. There’s a small reflective strip along the brim to help with visibility in case you don’t feel like hiding in the woods with the squatch.brooks sasquatch11.jpg.png

Tempo Knit In Crew Socks

Finally, to tie the Sasquatch collection together, the crew socks. These socks are a good quality material meant to be breathable and sweat wicking, which is what you need out there while you’re sweating your heart out. Drilayer® quick-drying yarn ensures that your feet won’t stay wet, and the there’s a smooth toe seam to avoid any irritation while you’re running. These socks have targeted arch compression which helps support your feet for the hours you’re on them and they are slightly cushioned as well. Lastly, I must say that they are actually sort of festive for the upcoming holiday season.

The Brooks Cascadia 16 Trail Shoes are up for review next, so stayed tuned!!brooks sasquatch5.jpg
