Race Preview: 2019 Run2Music 5K (Beaverton)

Once a band nerd, always a band nerd. And as a tuba player, I was a MAJOR band nerd.

Which is why I excited to share about this upcoming event that brings together my inner band nerd with my outer runner (plus some feel good help out the kids to boot). Westview Band is putting on their first-ever 5K as a fundraiser to program needs, like uniforms, instruments, guest instructors, and other things that make the bells and whistles go.

The Run2Music 5K is a chance for community members to help step in. And multiple musical groups will be along the course to help you along the way. The course loop begins and ends at Westview High School, and small group ensembles will be all along the course with the pep band celebrating at the end. 100% of this event is going toward these youth and their creative futures.

“Our mission is simple: To help keep music education equitable for ALL who want to participate… while remaining small, affordable, and fun!”

After the event, runners and walkers are encouraged to stick around for food, music, door prizes, and sponsor booths. The music can’t stop/won’t stop after the finish line.
