Running socks are something that runners rarely think about unless they have to. And if they have to, that means the socks aren’t doing their job and you could encounter anything when you finally get to peel them off. There’s nothing worse when you’re out on a run than having to think about that choice, and that’s why socks ARE important.
Balega socks are always the right choice. I’ve run in many socks over the years, from 5k’s in the rain to 50k’s in the mud and what I know is this: Balegas are my go-to sock. I’ve loved every pair. The Enduro line, which was already a top seller, has been recently further upgraded. The Enduro V-Tech socks have an improved fit and new elastane, and there are still available in all three of the classic Balega styles – The Low Cut, Quarter Cut, and Crew Cut.
The three heights are key because you can choose the right one for your run. Kelly’s husband swears by Balega Low Cut for road runs and they are his go-to race sock, while they both prefer to wear the Quarter Cut or Crew Cut for trail running. And Kelly, because she is a weenie when the weather gets cold, loves the Crew Cut because it eliminates gaps between the bottom of her tights and the tops of her socks.
The V-Tech Arch Support System is a defining quality of the Enduro, which enhances the fit of the sock in all the right places. Some socks are either too tight around my ankles or too loose, but that’s never the case with Balega’s. I never feel anything at all which is the sign of a very well-made sock. The Enduros also leave a lot of room for my toes to breathe, which is super important when I’m out on the trails for hours at a time. These are also a a mid-weight, medium cushion sock that’s perfect for this time of year as the weather goes from hot to crisp (but not quite winter-chilly.) They feel cushy but never heavy or thick.
My favorite thing about Balegas is they are so incredibly soft right out of the package. They are even better when you slide them on .. Heaven. You can tell they are well made because they feel luxurious and there are no itchy seams to worry about thanks to the hand-linked toe closure system. These are as great for every day wear as they are for a long run and they feature a reinforced, extra deep heel pocket in addition to the pressure-free grip system. They also have a sensitive rib top on them which keeps them from budging and eliminate pressure marks. I never want to take them off. That is, unless they are really dirty, which happens a lot thanks to the trails.
The new Enduro V-Tech socks were in stores as of September 1st, so go out and get yours now!!
