Race Preview: 2018 Tigard K9-5K (Tigard),h_742,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01/a9716a_0397cd13c6f64aeb897b918ffc4f4eb8~mv2.jpg

If you think your best friend is better than someone else’s best friend, then this is the race for you. Well, as long as your best friend is a dog.

The 5th annual Tigard K9-5K event includes awards for the first, second, and third place human finishers. And the first, second, and third place dog finishers (as long as they are with a person). There will be a winner from the Kids Run event too.

For all the rest of us runners and walkers, there is plenty of good in this event. Proceeds from the event will go toward the K9 unit at the Tigard Police Department for the daily costs of Deisel and a new K9 joining the department later this year. Additional funds are given to local schools and non-profits.

All participants get a t-shirt at packet pick-up, and then a medal at the finish line. And after that it is all about the amazing breakfast planned: pancakes, sausage, juice, and (of course) coffee.

So, bring your two-legged and/or four-legged best friend for this Saturday morning fun.
