“Dad, Autism is not my disability, it’s my ability.”
This statement was the foundation of the It’s My Ability 5k Run/Walk that is now in its 5th successful year. Put on by Harmony Orthodontics, this race has raised $90,000 so far and hopes to continue to raise money for children with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome. 100% of the race fees go to Camp Odakoda, which is a youth camp that helps these special children have fun and learn to embrace their abilities fully.
This family friendly race wanders along the beautiful and paved Springwater Trail in Boring. Participants will receive a shirt, goody bag and finisher’s medal, and will be eligible for post-race raffle prizes. One of the bigger raffle prizes is free orthodontic treatment valued at over $6,000 – you must be present to win this one! Awards are given out for male and female overall winners and 1st place only in age group division.
This is a great and fun little race to help out some wonderful kids! 🙂
