Race Preview: 2017 Wallowa Lake Sprint Triathlon, Race To End Abuse


On Saturday September 2, come swim, bike, and run among the majestic Eagle Cap Mountains and breathtaking Wallowa Lake scenery. Hosted by Safe Harbors, the Wallowa Lake Sprint Triathlon is being held to raise funds to benefit victims of domestic and sexual violence in Wallowa County. If you’re traveling this scenic area of Oregon, or live close to Joseph Oregon this fun-filled, family-friendly sprint triathlon is a perfect event. For those new to triathlons this race is ideal with a quick 250 meter swim in refreshing Wallowa Lake, a 12 mile bike ride to the city of Joseph and back, and a beautiful 5k run through the Wallowa Lake Resort area.

Come for the race and stay for the weekend to experience everything Wallowa County has to offer, including the Eagle Cap Wilderness, Hells Canyon Recreational Area, and the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness area. With beautiful summer weather, the average high in early September is 78 degrees with an average low of 37 degrees.

What: Sprint distance triathlon for adults and kids (individual or team)

Cost: Regular Registration Prices ($40 tri/$65 team) will be in effect until 11:59 pm on August 17, 2017.  Only those participants registered by this date will be guaranteed a t-shirt due to the order cut-off deadline. Late Registration will be in effect until midnight on August 27th 2017. No race day registration.
