We have worked with LIVSN for a few years now. This clothing company was featured back in 2020 when we reviewed their Canvas Pants, and then again in 2021 when they expanded those pants into shorts. I still wear these with regularity and they may be some the most stylishly functional bottoms I have in my closet.
Today, we are checking out their new Ecotrek Trail Shorts, an item that is a hard combination to attain – function, comfort, and still somehow stylish.

We reviewed an essentially similar product just about a year ago – the Ecotrek Pants. The Ecotrek Shorts are much of the same (outside of the length – duh), and thus we love them same.
These are the real deal when it comes to rugged construction and a nice fit. These shorts are built to withstand whatever adventure you throw at them. The material feels durable and sturdy, yet surprisingly lightweight, making them ideal for hiking, camping, or any outdoor activity.
The length is just right for me (8.5″ inseam, hitting above the knee but still providing enough coverage. They have plenty of stretch and freedom of movement, allowing you to scramble over rocks or tackle steep trails with ease. Whether you’re hitting the trails or simply lounging around, these shorts will keep you comfortable and looking sharp.
They are made from a blend of recycled nylon and spandex (70% Recycled Nylon from recycled ocean buoys / 25% Nylon /5% Spandex), making them not only environmentally friendly but also flexible and quick-drying. The fabric is treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish, which means you can confidently tackle unexpected rain showers or splashes without getting soaked.
The shorts have a total of seven pockets, including a zippered one for secure storage of your valuables. They even have a hidden pocket inside one of the cargo pockets, perfect for stashing small essentials like keys or cash.
We noted in our review of the EcoTrek Pants, we recommended sizing up. While much between the pants and shorts are similar, we do not feel the sizing is this different in the shorts. Regular sizing seems appropriate though go up if you are worried.
Overall, the LIVSN Ekotrek Trail Shorts deliver on both style and functionality, making them a great option this summer – and beyond.
The Ecotrek Trail Pants come in 2 colors: Caramel (reviewed) and Olive.
