Nathan is pretty well-known for their sports accessories, from hydration packs and belts to headlamps and reflective vests, and everything in between. They’ve revamped their QuickStart pack, complete with a 1.5L bladder, and is now available online.
I’ve been running with a Nathan pack for easily 5 years and any race start will be a showcase of their many styles and iterations as well. One of their introductory packs, the QuickStart, has been updated and refreshed and is now on the market if you’re looking for a new upgrade yourself or wanting to gift one to someone who is shopping for a lightweight, no-fuss, budget-friendly running vest.
Although it’s a “one size fits most” pack, it’s incredibly adjustable from front to back and side to side. It’s a lightweight running pack with stretchy moisture-wicking material, but has plenty of storage (3L) for a good day adventure as well.
The pack comes with a 1.5L bladder and hose, but has a bottle pocket on the front if that’s more your jam. It also has a zippered pocket on the front for your phone, keys, snacks, or anything else you need up front and accessible. The main pocket on the back will fit the rest of anything you want to bring: layers, first aid kit, more snacks, 10 essentials, etc. The main pocket holds the bladder as well but is nicely separated to make refilling less cumbersome.
As with all Nathan items, there are reflective strips placed all over adding some safety features for night (or early morning) runs or to use as a commuter pack.
Nathan has a great selection of running gear from packs, belts, bottles, lights, apparel, and accessories. They truly take user feedback into consideration when designing and updating their products and the QuickStart is a good example of a refresh on an oldie-but-a-goodie.
