It’s time to register for the annual Run for the Hills held in Corvallis on Sunday, June 5th. These scenic and challenging trail courses include an 8K and 30K option. And new to the lineup this year is the half marathon! The 8K course takes place in Bald Hill Park; the 30K includes the full 8K course and adds in a trip to Fitton Green Natural Area along the Mulkey Ridge connector trail. Both courses include challenging hills and some flat stretches, and are on dirt trails except for a 1.4 mile stretch of paved path in the park. The half marathon distance is so new the course is not yet mapped out, so stay tuned! Whichever distance you choose, you can expect to climb some hills and be rewarded with beautiful views!
This event also includes a non-competitive kids’ 1/4 mile and 2 mile option, so bring the whole family!
An early start is available for the 30K if you expect to take longer than 3:30 to finish.
Awards for both races will be given to the top three overall male/female finishers as well as the top three in each age group (those opting for the early start are not eligible unless everyone in the age group starts early). Race shirts are available to purchase up to June 1st.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Greenbelt Land Trust Trails Fund, which helps purchase equipment/materials for trail maintenance and construction.
