What Run Oregon is Wearing: Blyss Running

Skirting Around Crop – Teal

When I first started running, I was super self-conscious about what I wore. I weighed around 250 pounds and felt like others were constantly judging me. It took me a long time to learn that runners come in all body types. And that at the starting line of a race, everyone is focused on their race, not on my clothes.

So, if no one else cared about what I was wearing, then I wanted to wear outfits that were comfy and made me feel cute.

The first time I wore the Skirting Around Crop from Blyss Running, I literally shouted “I look cute!!!” at the mirror. Black capris with a teal skirt over them provided the perfect combination to hide any sweat or rain splotches, while still giving me a pop of color to feel seen on the sidewalks. And the pants include a zip pocket in the back (perfect for my key and ID) and open pockets on the side of both legs (perfect spots and size for my cell phone and a granola bar).

After a 10K run in the neighborhood, everything still felt secure and well covered. In looking at the Blyss Running website later on, I learned that the skirts intentionally include a wide waistband so it does not ride up. I also learned that the company was founded by a woman, which made all my love of these capris make even more sense.
