Run Northbest Stronger Together Virtual 5K, 10K & Half Marathon this Saturday

Our friends at Run Northbest are hosting a virtual race with all proceeds to be donated to Feeding the Frontline PDX & Feeding America. Run Northbest is known for their summer race series – a low-cost lineup of weekly 5k races with beer at the finish that’s been in Beaverton the last two summers.

The Run Northbest Stronger Together Virtual 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon is their latest event, but this one is BYOB. To take part, you just make a donation based on your planned distance. For the 5k, they’re asking for a $15 donation. The 10k is a $20 donation and the half-marathon is a $30 donation. Get signed up online here!

You can run or walk any time this Saturday, April 11, and then document your “race” using #RNBStrongerTogether on Instagram or whatever platform you prefer. If you do it, go ahead and tag @Run_Oregon on Insta as well so we can follow along. Afterwards, they’ll send out certificates to everyone who made a donation and participated.

If you know me, you know I’m not a fan of for-profit virtual races. But I know the organizers of Run Northbest personally and I can recommend this event as a meaningful way to funnel a donation to a worthy cause.

That’s all there is to it – check out more details here, along with some good reminders about how to follow social distancing suggestions. And have fun!

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
