Race Preview: 2019 Shellburg Falls Trail Run (Lyons)
As a “road” runner I am drawn to an occasional “trail” run for something different than my normal races. I love Run Wild Adventure Trail Runs. They always gives me that extra adventure I need once in awhile. I’ve done a number of their races over the years and I love coming back. If your an avid trail runner, you will really enjoy this course.
If you’re wanting some adventure, Shellburg Falls Trail Run is a great race to check out. This waterfall is tucked in a nice forest patch up on a nice little mountain. The trail course is a scenic loop totaling 5.2 miles, going around the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Shellburg Falls. It is a challenging trail run that has significant elevation gain. The course takes you behind Shellburg Falls for breathtaking beauty. Do expect muddy conditions and being December, the possibility of ice. The course for Run Wild Trail runs are always well marked, even in the mud!
