Race Preview: 2019 CARDV Mother’s Day 5K (Corvallis)

Come celebrate Mother’s Day with a fun, family friendly 5K in Corvallis, OR. The CARDV Mother’s Day 5K is hosting its event on the Oregon State University campus for the 17th year. The race is family and walker friendly and has an option for chip timing or to opt out of chip timing. There is a kids’ fun run with a Family Fun Fair and snacks to follow. To make the event even more fun and meaningful, you can create a team with your support system and complete the event together! Members of your team can also participate virtually if they want to support you and the cause but cannot attend in person on race day.

The event is sponsored by and helps to raise awareness and proceeds to benefit the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV). These funds are helped to sustain their shelter program, and advocate and educate survivors to help them reach their fullest potential. One of the main principles of the CARDV is unity. What better way to support victims of violence against women, financially and emotionally, than to embark on an event that is all about resilience and camaraderie?

There are even race entry scholarships for participants that are survivors and are using CARDV services. Assistance is also available for members of the community in need. If you are interested or know someone that would benefit form this opportunity,  contact Jessica at jessica.nixon@cardv.org and request the scholarship code No additional details necessary. Limited codes available. Donations and race entry sponsorship always welcome. If you would like to help someone run this race, fee free, donate here!
