Race Preview: 2019 Hop Hop Half + 10K/5K (Portland)

The time has come for us to start putting away the merino bottoms and running gloves and pulling out our favorite running tees and shorts: SPRING is finally here and so is a Portland favorite, spring / Easter-themed race: the Hop Hop Half hosted by our friends at Foot Traffic!

Choose from a half marathon, 10K, or 5K for distance but all the courses are fast, flat, and beautiful along Marine Drive in North Portland, making it perfect for a PR! Beginners and walkers are welcome, too (as are strollers) but sorry, please leave the dogs at home for this one! Starting (and finishing) at the Kliever Armony runners will head up 33rd Ave to the Marine Drive bike path and head East for a beautiful out-and-back. The half marathon is USATF-certified and all 3 distances will be chip-timed. You can check out the course details and map here.

The half will feature 5 aid stations (with water, Nuun electrolyte drink, and Clif Shots gels) and at least one Peeps aid station (yes, we mean the sugary, marshmallow-y chick-shaped Easter treats!).

The post-race festivities include Easter brunch with cinnamon rolls, fruit, scrambled eggs and croissants; mimosas or orange juice in a commemorative champagne flute (yours to keep!), costume contest and egg painting contest, photos with the Easter bunny, and more!

We’ll be there – come say hi!
