Race Preview: 2019 iRun for Kids 5K & 10 Mile (Albany)

1478289964iRun for Kids is a race event that checks off so many boxes for me. Fun name. Local charity. Adorable kids. And PIZZA.

This is a small event but it has a lot of heart and a great cause. Now in its 16th year, iRun for Kids is a fundraiser for the Albany Public Schools Foundation. With the start and finish at the West Albany High School Stadium, participants get to see exactly where their support is headed. And there will be booster club volunteers there with hot drinks and food for sale at the concession stand.

Adult and student participants can choose from the 5K or the 10-mile loop course. While kids in early elementary school can be part of the Little Leprechaun Dash (a grown up keep them company if needed). After two loops around the track, every Little receives a Shamrock bopper headband and other swag items.

Check out the video to see highlights from last year’s event, then get onto the website to see if iRun for Kids can be part of your spring adventures.
