Small Race Preview: 2018 Umpqua Strong 9k & 5k Run/Walk (Roseburg)

Mass shootings around the globe have unfortunately become so commonplace in our daily news cycles that it’s hard to keep up with which one is the latest. It seems like only yesterday, but at the same time it seems like eons ago that a school of our own here in Oregon was target of a tragic shooting. The annual Umpqua Strong 9K and 5K run/walk is a tribute and outlet of unity to express hope and determination through a positive community experience. The 3rd annual race will be held on Saturday, September 29th in Roseburg.

Starting and ending at Stewart Park, the course is scenic along the river and through the parks of the city. Bring the whole family – there is kids run (1 mile or half mile options depending on age) and a post-race concert, featuring award winning artist and American Idol contestant Colton Dixon!
