Race Preview: 2017 Fall Creek Run Around (5k, 15k, 20 Miler)

If you are looking for something different this spring, head out to Lowell, OR for the Fall Creek Run Around by Level 32 Racing on Saturday April 29th.  You’ll have three distance options to choose from: The 5k, the 15k and the 20 Miler. This race was previously held in February, and it sounds as though there has been some snow and ice in previous years, so it’s great that it was moved out to April this year. Hopefully you’ll get some good weather for this beautiful race.

All the races start at the same time, 10:00AM, which might allow you to sleep in a little. 15k runners will take a shuttle out to Cascara Campground on a point to point paved course, so be sure you don’t miss it! The 5k is a short but challenging out-and-back, all on pavement as well. The 20 mile race is mostly paved but about 25% of the course is hard paved dirt roads. There will be portable toilets at the start/finish areas as well as aid stations available on the courses. All of the courses have some rolling hills and they all finish at Winberry Park. The races are described as scenic, which will certainly help when the course gets to the “rolling” part of the description.

Stick around after your race is finished for the awards to the top overall male and female as well as the top 3 finishers in all distances. You’ll get a breakfast burrito courtesy of Chula’s on Franklin Blvd to enjoy. This race will be a great kick off to race season, no matter what distance you choose.
