Gallopin’ for Glory at the Giddy Up Ranch Run

It’s time to round up yer kinfolk, neighbors, runnin’ buddies, and maybe a ghost or two for a rip-roarin’ Halloween at the Giddy Up 5K / 5-Miler Ranch Run! This year, the race falls on Halloween, so pull on them boots, dust off yer best Western duds, and make tracks to Pole Creek Ranch.

This ain’t your ordinary neighborhood trot. You’ll be gallopin’ along private country roads with the Three Sisters Mountains keepin’ watch overhead. Add in a little Halloween mischief, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a Saturday in Sisters.

Got yourself a posse of six or more? Form up a team and knock $5 off each rider’s entry fee. But don’t dilly-dally—the corral is limited to just 200 runners, and those spots can disappear faster than a jack-o’-lantern after sundown.

What’s Cookin’ at This Shindig

Now listen here—this ain’t just about crossin’ the finish line. Once you’ve moseyed across, stick around for the finish-line hoedown at the Secret Corral.

We’re talkin’:

  • Live pickin’ and strummin’
  • Lawn games for young’uns and grown-ups
  • Good grub and cold drinks
  • A heap o’ swag
  • A rootin’-tootin’ costume contest
  • Plenty of Halloween spirit

And yep, there’s even a free kids’ run for the little cowpokes.

Yer Registration Gets Ya:

  • Custom race bib and shiny finisher medal
  • One fine-lookin’ race shirt
  • A gallop through some of the prettiest ranch land in Central Oregon
  • One cold brew, seltzer, or sparkling water
  • Entry to one heck of a post-race party

So bring a lawn chair, kick off them runnin’ shoes, and settle in for some music, food, games, and good ol’ ranch livin’. Since it’s Halloween, feel free to get creative with that costume, too.

Race Details & Course Information

The Giddy Up takes place at Pole Creek Ranch outside Sisters, giving runners a chance to see a little slice of Central Oregon that you don’t normally get to explore on race day.

Trail & Course Notes

  • Punch the right address into yer phone. Some of them city-slicker GPS gizmos don’t recognize Pole Creek Ranch.
  • Allow 10–15 minutes to mosey down the ranch road to park and make yer way to the start corral. The speed limit on the ranch road is 10 MPH.
  • The course includes packed gravel and dirt. Joggin’ strollers should be fine, but your average city stroller might have a rougher go of it.
  • Sorry, partner—no dogs or other critters are allowed on the ranch.

When the Dust Settles…
