Come Get Loopy at the Suttle Lake Trailfest

Trail Runners Unite!

The 2026 Suttle Lake Trailfest will be here soon! This event, hosted by Alpine Running, will be the weekend of October 24th and 25th.

This event has three options for you to choose from: a 24-Hour, 12-Hour, or 6-Hour trail running journey at Suttle Lake. Free camping, food, and a fun vibe await you on this adventure!

The course is a 3.6 mile loop with 110 feet of elevation gain. It’s a pretty well-maintained and non-technical trail with a soft forest floor and a few random roots here and there. There will be 1 aid station at the start/finish so you can hit it every time you are starting or finishing a loop.

The aid station will be stocked with the usual sweet and salty trail fare, including water, soda, electrolyte drink, gels, and some warm food items. Please bring your own drinking vessel, as this race is CUPLESS. You also have the option of setting up your own “aid station” nearby with your own comfort items that you’ll want between loops.

Pacers will be allowed at the halfway point for each race and you can have crew at the start/finish line only. The last lap of your race will only be counted if you finish it within the time limit designated for your race (6 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours.)

Once you decide to tap out, which you can do at any time, let the race officials know and you will not be allowed to re-enter the race. There will be a warming tent set up, but bring some warm clothes for when nightfall comes, as it will get cold! You’ll also want to remember a headlamp and extra batteries.

All three options start at 8:00AM at the South Shore Campground. There are a few accommodations for you, depending on the experience you are looking for. You can stay at the Suttle Lake Lodge or opt to stay in Sisters (20 minutes away) or Camp Sherman (17 minutes away.)

There is also free camping at the start/finish line, which is first come, first serve. The water, electricity, and sewer will be turned off at the campground that weekend and the restrooms will be closed, but there will be portable toiles available starting that Friday near the boat ramp.

All participants will receive custom finisher’s medals and the top 3 finishers in each race will get some great race sponsor prizes.

If you’ve been wanting to get an endurance race in this year, this could be the one!
