Mark your calendars and get ready to trek through some dirt, because it’s almost time to get moving for 2026 Haulin Aspen.

There are three distances to choose from: Full Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, and the “Half As,” which is half of a half (6.5 miles,) if you catch that drift. This year, for the first time, there will also be a three-person relay option for the marathon, so you can split the distance up among friends.
Runner #1 will tackle the first 9.6 miles, runner #2 will have the longest leg of 11.7 miles, and runner #3 will finish the race with an uphill trek of 4.9 miles. Everyone for every race option gets a medal!

This Lay It Out Events race winds through gorgeous Deschutes National Forest and will be on August 8th. You’ll travel single track trails and forest service roads, starting and ending at Wanoga Sno-Park, which is resting at an elevation of 5500 feet.
- Marathoners will have 700 feet of vertical gain from mile 21.5 to mile 24, so beware of the pain cave! The marathon will take off first at 7:00AM, and there are 6 aid stations along the course. 2 of those aid stations will be available twice, so you have 8 total opportunities for aid. Please also note that there are 5 miles between aid stations 2 and 3, so plan your fueling and hydration accordingly.
- The Half marathon begins at 8:00AM, and there are 3 aid stations on that route. You will pass 1 of the aid stations twice, so there are 4 aid opportunities.
- The Half As starts at 8:30AM and there are 2 aid stations for this distance. There will be a gear drop if you need it at the race start as well.

There will be a fun post-race celebration after your race with music, food, and a complimentary beer. There will be fitness and lifestyle vendors there too, so drop in and say hi to the people there to introduce you to new and/or familiar products and services.
