Trail racing is good for the soul, and if you’ve never run around Timothy Lake, you should consider doing the 2026 Timberline Marathon. This race will be early in the summer (the weekend of June 6th) so you’ll still have the rest of the season to relax.

There’s both a marathon and a half marathon on Saturday June 6th, and both start at Clackamas Lake Historic Ranger Station. The marathon will take off first at 8:30AM, followed by the half marathon at 9:30AM. If Saturday doesn’t work for you, there will be a second opportunity for the half marathon on Sunday, June 7th. Again, it will start at 9:30AM at the same location. Single-track forest trails and stunning views of the epic Mt Hood await you!
This race is a cupless event, so please plan to bring your own drinking vessel to refuel at aid stations. Aid stations will be located every 3 to 4 miles along the course and will be stocked with water and sports drink mix, GU gels, and gummy bear chews. There will also be first aid kits, because safety first! There is a 7-hour cutoff time for the marathon and a 5.5-hour cutoff for the half marathon. You can view course maps here.
The race village near the start/finish line will have water, electrolytes and some food and snacks. There will also be portable toilets and hand-washing stations. There is a gear check, but please bring your own bag in an effort to reduce waste.
