Join the only 50k in PDX: Stumptown Trail Runs

If you’re looking to do an ultra that will still allow you the opportunity to sleep in your own bed rather than travel out of town, the 2026 Stumptown Trail Runs is it! The 50k event is, in fact, the only one in Portland, specifically in Forest Park.

If you’re not feeling quite up to a 50k in May, there’s also a half marathon option. And not only is this popular Memorial weekend race local, but it’s a Go Beyond Racing event, which means it’s going to be both well-organized and beautiful. The aid stations are well stocked, the volunteers are amazing, and there’s always a party when you’re done.

This year, race organizers are mixing up the long weekend a bit and holding the 50k on Saturday May 23rd and the Half Marathon on Monday the 25th. As always, the routes will tackle the gorgeous Wildwood Trail and some lesser-known but equally fantastic paths within Forest Park. There’s 4000 feet of elevation gain for the 50k and 1800 feet of gain and loss for the half marathon.

The races will start and finish about a quarter mile up the Leif Erikson trailhead on the top of Thurman Street. Parking is available on neighborhood streets and carpooling, taking public transit, or doing a ride share is always encouraged, and it can get a bit tight up there.

After you finish the race, stick around for some delicious pizza from Yum’s of PDX and some tasty beverages.  All finishers will earn a Stumptown pint glass and there is merchandise available for purchase during registration. Top finishers will receive prizes from the sponsors, and there will be raffle prizes as well.

This is a race that sells out, so it’s better to register sooner than later.
