An Ugly Race for a Great Cause: 2023 Ugly Holiday Sweater Run 5k

The holidays are coming and that means it’s almost time for the 2023 Ugly Holiday Sweater Run. This free annual race includes options for a 5k run/walk as well as a one mile walk, both starting at the Tualatin Road Runner Sports. After the race, enjoy hot drinks and goodies along with the holiday festive environment and the crazy holiday sweaters that participants will be wearing!

This event will benefit the Ladybug CDH Foundation, which is an organization dedicated to raising awareness of the birth defect congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and providing assistance to families with infants hospitalized by CDH. Though the event is a free one, you’ll have the option to make a suggested donation of $15 when you register. Please also consider donating new cotton receiving blankets, blankets, and blank journals, as all of these items would also go to the Ladybug Foundation and NICU.

The event is untimed, so if you feel like you need to run or walk more than the 5K, you can do that.  This is a perfect opportunity to burn off some extra holiday calories that might be accumulating with the season’s cookies, pies and other goodies finding their way in my house.  Prizes are not awarded to the fastest runner but to some of the festive sweaters you might see out on the course. That’s right, prizes and trophies are awarded for the “ugliest” holiday sweater.  There will also be some raffle drawings and a Road Runner Sports shopping discount!

The event is a ton of fun for everyone at any fitness level and family friendly too.  Kiddos are happy to do the one mile loop last and stay to enjoy some eggnog and pastries while you’re out getting your 5k done.

There is no packet pick up, so print a bib at home or show up early to grab on and some snacks!
