BOO! The Scary Run is Here!

It is that time of year, spooky decorations, Halloween costumes and candy galore! A favorite time of year for many, myself included. This is the perfect time of year to sign up for some spooky holiday themed races. One of my favorite Halloween themed races has to be Scary Run. This spooky race takes place in Washougal, WA on October 29th, 2023.

They have several race options, a half marathon, 10K and 5K.

For those who have never participated in a Why Racing Event, you are sure in for a treat. All participants are treated like champions. They have several races throughout the year, including triathlons and marathons. All events are professionally ran, have chip timing, but the best part for me, is always the feeling of accomplishment and praise received during these races.

For the Scary Run, runners and walkers will receive a finishers shirt and medal. The course is very beautiful and scenic, that is along the Columbia River. Picturesque views of Mt. Hood and the Gorge are some of the landmarks on this very flat and fast course.

With a name like Scary Run, it does make you wonder, what is so scary about this race? Well, I will tell you one thing, there will be times throughout the course you will think you are running for your life! One of the best things about this race are that youth (13-17 years old) and kids (12 and under) race for FREE! What better way to introduce your kids to a fun activity.

I can assure you, once you run one race, there is no turning back. At the end of the race, participants will receive yummy soup and sandwiches and free adult beverages. There is also free race photos emailed after the race. The after party is top notch, with dance parties, food and swag.

Join friends and family at a fun and scary race. Burn off all those extra yummy candies in the fun and festive Scary Run. And don’t forget to wear your costume!!
