On Top O’ the World in Recovery Footwear from Topo

Running is a physically demanding activity that places significant stress on our bodies, particularly our feet and legs. Adequate recovery is crucial for runners to prevent injuries, enhance performance, and maintain overall well-being.

When it comes to footwear, choosing the right shoes that prioritize recovery can make a remarkable difference in the runner’s experience and long-term health. Thus, the Topo Revive and Rekovr 2 are amazing choices.

Topo Revive

Both the Topo Revive and the Topo Rekovr 2 are exceptional choices for runners seeking quality recovery footwear. They provide the necessary support, comfort, and construction to aid in the recovery process after intense workouts or races.

Whether you prefer the balanced cushioning of the Revive or the lightweight flexibility of the Rekovr 2, Topo has created two excellent options to help runners optimize their recovery and maintain peak performance.

Topo Rekovr 2

Both options are relatively similar in construction, with the main differnce being the existance of a back heel (Rekovr 2) or not (Revive). This means that the Revive is about an ounce and a half lighter than the Rekovr 2. The uppers – constructed from recycled polyester fleece upper – make them both sustainable and comfortable.

Both are specifically engineered to provide exceptional support and comfort. There is plenty of cushion in the midsole, but its not overdone. They easily absorb impact and reduce stress on the feet and legs so that you can be ready to go on your next run.

The gentle waves of the soft Ortholite foam insert provides an amazing feel. They are designed to gently stimulate the nerves along the bottom of the foot to aid in recovery. I just say they feel great. They also offer a roomy toe box, allowing your toes to splay naturally and providing added comfort during the recovery phase.

Even with a hard outsole, made from Vibram XS Trek EVO, slipping these on are an absolute joy.

We have constantly said that your running is only as good as your feet can take you. If you are investing hundreds (thousands?!) of dollars in footwear and gear for running, shouldn’t you take the next step and invest in items that will allow your running shoes and apparel to get the maximum amount of use?

We say yes!

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
