It’s time to start thinking about spring running! I know, we are deep in the middle of winter, but the tulips are starting to peek their little green tips out of the ground in preparation for spring. And, what better way to celebrate the coming of spring than to run through the tulip fields of the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm at the Tulip Trail Run? Who knows what the weather will be like, but for sure the scenery will be exploding with color . . . and probably mud.
Choose from a Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K for this March run, that includes free entry into the annual Tulip Fest. With 40 acres and over 100 varieties of tulips, this event is sure to be beautiful. There will be demonstrations, food carts, and much more for you to enjoy after your run.
Make sure to wear your trail shoes and bring a change of shoes (and maybe clothes) for afterwards, as there is usually no shortage of mud along the courses. The 1/2 marathon does include some roads around the farm, but the course will also go off-road.
If you are bringing friends/family that do not plan to run, but wish to attend the Tulip Fest (and cheer you on), make sure they purchase tickets online in advance. Ticket purchases will be online only and unavailable at the farm.
