Race Preview: 2023 Lucky Clover 5k/10k

It’s that “Lucky” time of the year again! Have you chosen your St. Patrick’s Day running event yet? There are certainly plenty to choose from. You can go big (like 35,000 people big) or you can go small or in between. You can pick road or trail for your course and now you can even choose to run in the morning or evening. The Lucky Clover 5k/10k, will be held on Friday, March 17th in Springfield, and it starts at 5:30PM. I know a lot of crazy runners who have been known to run two races in the same day. Having a later afternoon start provides the perfect opportunity to do that.

This event offers three different options: There’s a 5k trail course through Dorris Ranch Park which is flat and winds through the filbert orchards. There’s also a 5k road course, which takes you over a couple of hills in the first half of the route before flattening through a residential neighborhood. And finally, the 10k option is a road/trail combination and gives racers the choice of running either the road portion or the trail portion first.

The cost of this race is only $30 or $25 if you’re 17 and under. Add $5 for registration on race day, and you can also add a technical tee shirt for an additional $14. (Please note, shirts are only guaranteed through April 9th.)
