On Cloud 9 in the new Brooks Levitate GTS 6

Brooks has done it again. I’ve jumped on the band wagon with both feet in Brooks and there’s no turning back now. I just reviewed the Brooks Ghost 15 (they are fantastic BTW) and now I’m here for the Levitate GTS 6. For Ghost lovers, these are really different but no less amazing, The Levitate shoe is considered the cornerstone of the Energize category, and the DNA AMP midsole compound is the reason why.

Looks

I got the Brooks Levitate GTS 6 in pink and purple and they are gorgeous. I got three compliments on them the very first time I wore them, They are like an ode to the 80’s and 90’s in the best possible way. The hottest pink of all pinks on the laces and the purple that goes well with the blue look great together and there are pops of yellow everywhere.

Function

These are meant for the road in front of you and they will go the distance. The purpose of the Levitate is energy return, and these have that in spades. They are also extremely supportive with their GuideRails® technology which will limit excess movement and aid your feet, knees, and hips. These are ideal for reaching the next milestone you have in mind. These are great for quick transitions too.

Construction

As always, sustainability is important to Brooks, and these shoes have 63.3% of recycled materials in the upper. 7.59 plastic bottles are diverted from landfills to manufacture these shoes as well.  Brooks also has their popular DNA AMP v2 foam, now 10% lighter than it was previously, and with more in the midsole.

Fit

Like all Brooks shoes I’ve tried, these have a nice springy feel to them. These are a great neutral shoes and the updated engineered knit upper is super breathable and flexible.  There is also a wider midfoot in this release, which helps the heel-to-toe transition. I tried these for a 5k race and I fetlt like I was flying in these shoes. They were light and made my steps feel like a breeze.

Overall

Looking for a comfortable shoe that will take you the distance? Try out the Brooks Levitate GTS 6. Though I didn’t find these as cushy as some of the other Brooks shoes in my closet, they definitely feel like they will go the distance. They are lightweight and comfortable, and they are definitely the Energized Bunny of the bunch.
