Why buy something that does ONE thing when you could buy something that instead does MULTIPLE things? I mean, we live in a fast-paced, multi-task world these days, so why wouldn’t we expect the same of the products that we use all the time?
Introducing FLIPMITS – a very simple product with a very simple concept in both design and in function, but also really kind of a brilliant invention. With FLIPMITS, you get 3-in-I functionality in a glove, a sweatband, and a mitten.
Looks
The construction of the FLIPMIT is simple. It looks very similar to a fingerless mitten with a “pocket” (for lack of a better word) that folds over backward over your exposed fingers to create a mitten. The enhanced grip will help for aid you in workouts, yoga, lifting weights, sports acitivities, or just chilling while you work on your computer in a chilly room.
Function
If you’re looking for gloves, the FLIPMITS will do a great job of keeping your hands warm while still doing all of the things you typically need your hands for, like texting, eating, working, or anything that gloves would otherwise hinder. But as soon as your fingers start to get cold, you have the option of turning the gloves into a mitten to keep everything toasty. There’s also a thumbhole, so you can leave your thumb in the mitten or outside of it. And then, finally, if you’re getting warm, like for example, on a run, the mitten can further be modified to create a sweatband for your wrist.
Construction
FLIPMITS are made from organic bamboo fleece and are also anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. The fabric is hypo-allergenic and they wash well over and over in a washing machine. The material is more absorbent than a typical sweatban (3x moreso, in fact) and they are way more comfortable than any pair of gloves I currently own. The material is a heavy weight stretch fabric.
Fit
The FLIPMITS come in two size options, a small or a large. The small is 6.5” long and 3.25” wide. The Large is 7.5” and 4” wide. I have short wide fingers, so many standard gloves don’t fit very well. Since there are no finger holes with these, you should be able to find a good fit no matter what.
Overall/For Consideration
In my opinion, FLIPMITS hit all the requirements for runners. You can throw them on while you’re gearing up and/or driving to your next race, bundle up in them when the cold air hits your hands, and push them back to wipe your sweaty brow when the run gets hot. Not only that, but you can use these other places, like your standard general trips out and about. They are so comfortable that I forget I’m wearing them, which is awesome because my hands get cold quickly and heat up and sweat easily too. The FLIPMIT will help you in every scenario. They are also made in the good ol’ USA and the pricepoint is very affordable.
