New Preview for Old Cascadia

Here in Oregon we have some of the very best race organizers, and one of the best is Alpine Running, who continues to put on well organized events in amazing places.

One such event is the Old Cascadia 50 mile/20 mile trail race near Santiam Junction, high in the Willamette National Forest. The area is known for its amazing single track trails and steep climbs, as well as views for days. To get those views, runners will need to do some epic climbing, as the 50 mile course has 14,000 feet of gain/loss, while the 20 mile course has 5,800.

While the elevation gain might make you think twice, the race organizers provide 6 well stocked aid stations and 17 hours to complete the 50 mile distance. If you’re looking for a truly amazing experience, filled with tough climbs that reward you with one of a kind views, this is your event.

When: Saturday, October 15th. 50 mile race starts at 5:30am. 20 mile race starts at 9am.
Where: Lava Lake Sno Park in the Willamette National Forest.
