Small Races in Unique Places: 2022 Echo Sage Run 5K/10K

Where is Echo, you might ask. Well let me tell you! Just outside of Hermiston is the cool little town of Echo, Oregon. Population 577, this little burg is home to the a couple of great wineries, a fun golf course, and the only fall trail race in Eastern Oregon – the Echo Sage Run!

The Echo Sage Run, which started in 2015, donates all race proceeds to a scholarship fund for the Eastern Chapter of the Eastern Oregon Women for Agriculture. The course exists on private farm land where 25 miles of mountain bike trails have been built over the past 10 years. Runners will enjoy the local ridges as well as the Sno Road Winery vineyard. Here’s more about the course:

Our race will take place in North Eastern Oregon. It begins at the foothills of the Blue Mountains and runs close to the Umatilla River just short of the Oregon Trail, south of Echo, Oregon. The race course is on 100% private farm land owned by Lloyd & Lois Piercy. The trail has been open to the public for the past 10 years. Local Bike Clubs, Bike Shops & Volunteers have developed 25 miles of mountain bike trails on the Echo West Ranch & Vineyard.
