Heck Yes – the Hell of the Northwest Trail Runs is back (with a relay!)

Appropriately named, Hell of the Northwest Trail Runs promises just that – hellish climbs and difficult courses. But what makes this tough race more heavenly is the gorgeous scenery runners will be encountering. This race offers a full, half, 10K and – new this year – a marathon relay. This event takes place in a little city just outside of Corvallis in the coastal mountain range of Oregon. This means the race is covered by lush trees and beautiful single track trails. Oregon Trail Runs puts on this race, which means it is going to be well run and a wonderful experience. They always make their racers feel like family!

Remember, this race happens just a few weeks before Halloween, so costumes are encouraged! There will be special prizes for the best men’s, women’s, and juniors costume. And if you choose to wear a costume, you can use discount code “costume” to save $5 on registration.

The half marathon climbs 1900 feet and features a large out-and-back curve that tackles amazing trails. The half relay runners will each run one way while the marathon relay runners will run the entire half course once. The 10K will be a single trip on the one-way loop that climbs about 1,000 feet. See all the race maps and elevation scales here.

This race is limited to 250 total participants. Scary Black Hell of the NW Socks will be given to the first 200 participants.

The relay option really makes these wonderful trails more accessible for those who aren’t seasoned trail runners and don’t see themselves as currently able to run a marathon or half. Teams of 2-4 can participate in the longer distances and there are multiple divisions as well:

  • 4 Person Open under 199 years
  • 4 Person Open over 200 Years
  • 4 Person all women under 199 years
  • 4 Person all women over 200 years
  • Coed 4 person (must have 2 of each gender)
  • 3 Person Open (One person runs 2 sections)
  • 2 Person Open
  • 2 Person Coed
  • 2 person Women

Clearly, you won’t want to miss this “hell” of a run! Use coupon code ‘costume’ for $5 off.
