Race Preview: 2022 Oregon Hop Run (Independence)

This fairly new race in the Salem-area is coming up in mid-September and once again will have a 5K, 10K, and 1/2 mile kids dash! The Oregon Hop Run, hosted by The City of Independence and the Monmouth-Independence Area Chamber of Commerce, benefits the Ella Curran Food Bank.

Check out our review of the 2021 event!

The course starts and ends at the beautiful Riverfront Park in Independence at the amphitheater. Participants will be on a multi-use path with great views of the Willamette River. It is a loop course – 5K is 1 loop and 10K is 2. For runners in the 10K event, after your first 5k loop, you’ll get to ring the celebrated hop bell! The events are also stroller and dog friendly, so bring everyone! You can see the course map here.

The event will be chip timed by Ardor Adventures and all finishers will get a drink ticket to use at participating downtown Independence locations for either a beer, wine, or fruit smoothie!
