Six miles sounds like no big deal, unless that six miles involves climbing up 2,000 feet of elevation (and then back down). In that case, the 6 mile Gnar Gnar race sounds harder than a 26.2 mile marathon.
But hard has to be exactly what you are looking for when you sign up a race to the top of Mt. Hood Skibowl. This race, put on by Go Beyond Racing, has participants traveling multiple trails to get up and down Mt. Hood. Runners start at Gnar Gnar trail, then head up through Low Road, Horse Trail, Skyline Road before turning around and back down via Sunrise Trail, Sunset Trail, and along to the finish. There is one aid station at the turn around to give runners a breather, liquids, and a Gu for the return.
All finishers earn a finisher medal and there are lots of activities on the mountain for participants (and friends) to make a day of it on the mountain.
