The Ruff torch has been passed from Alpine Running to the race director at the newly formed Elevated Trail Racing (they also host the Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge every fall).
Not much about The Ruff has changed – the distance may be short at just about 7 miles, but packs in 3,000 feet of climbing…in the first 3 miles! Then the final 4 is all descent. If you’ve done Dog Mountain as a hike or run on your own, it’s the common loop on the same beautiful single track with gorgeous views of the Gorge at the top.
Even though this is up Dog Mountain, unfortunately doggos are not allowed on course due to permit conditions.
First place Male and Female finishers will receive a free pair of On trail running shoes!
