In a year when I watched Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer on Halloween, I see absolutely no reason not to sport my new red and green running socks all the way through winter. And since these compression ones will help with my recovery, that is just an added bonus.
Lily Trotters has crafted a variety of options for keeping your feet and legs well supported, including compression socks, crew socks, and calf sleeves. Some options are just for running and walking, while others are highlighted as benefitting the user during travel, work, sitting, or standing. One of the things that amazed me about this brand was all of the research they have into the benefits of compression socks. As a nerd and a runner, I was impressed.
Strong enough for a marathon, comfortable enough to wear for hours, pretty enough to wear almost anywhere, and thin enough to fit into all your favorite shoes.
I got my Bon Bon Holiday Red socks in early December but was waiting for a true winter day to try them out for the first time. I scored with an unexpected white Christmas in Washington. After opening the presents, I slipped out the front door for a 5K run through the neighborhood, using side streets to get in lots of hills and very few cars. By the end, my face and fingers were frozen, but my toes still felt great. I used them on a few more cold runs during the holiday break and loved the extra layer and supportive pressure on my calves.
The hardest thing about these socks was putting them on. Really should have watched Lily Trotters’ video before I attempted to pull them up inside my tights. Next time!
Also, next time I need compression socks I’ll be going for one of Lily Trotters’ mystery packs. All of the styles fantastic so I can save money buying a two or three-pack and be surprised by this present from me for me. 🙂
