Yerba Mate? Green coffee? Green tea? I’m sure you’ve heard of all of these being regarded as an energy booster, or just a healthy alternative to what’s out there. Marquis has crafted three unique flavored drinks containing all three of these ingredients. The drinks are are zero calorie, carb, gluten, and sugar free, as well as USDA certified organic.
I would describe these as a healthier alternative to your traditional energy drinks. They’re delicious and caffeinated, aren’t overly sweet, and conveniently come in a can to grab as you’re heading out the door to work or for enjoying before a nice long run. Marquis also has subscription options available on their website as well as the option to purchase one time. A 12-pack will run you $34.99 or you can buy a sampler 6-pack for $17.99
The flavors come in Super Berry, Citrus Yuzu, and Mango Ginger. Now normally, I’m not a fan of ginger in any way, shape, or form so I was a little apprehensive to try the Mango Ginger, especially as a cold beverage. Surprisingly, this ended up being my favorite flavor! It reminded me of an iced chai tea with a hint of mango. The Citrus Yuzu was a nice light citrus flavor that wasn’t too overwhelming as is sometimes a problem with sugar free beverages. It would taste great with some rum as a mojito to be honest (more on that later). The Super Berry was exactly as you’d expect, a nice, evenly balanced mix of berries!
While these taste great on their own, I couldn’t help but think to myself how refreshing these would be as a cool down cocktail after a long run. Well, to my surprise, Marquis also thought of this and have their own Marqology Cocktail Directory on their website with easy to follow cocktail recipes. With all of the quarantine weight we’ve been gaining, a low calorie easy to fix drink definitely fits the bill.
If you’re not sure of what flavor to try I recommend grabbing the 6-pack sampler to try them all and see what your favorite is. I love that these are great for both pre and post-run depending on your schedule.
