Race Preview: 2020 Tofurky Trot (Virtual)

2020 has required us all to get a bit creative, whether that means imagining that the kitchen table is a corner office or imagining that Zoom is the trendy new happy hour bar. While these changes are grounded in pragmatic safety concerns, the upsides are undeniable – no commute, no dress code, and no waiting for an open table!

Perhaps no one has mastered the art of a successful Plan B better than Tofurkey, and this Thanksgiving, NW Veg is continuing their tradition of providing a cruelty-free alternative to stay healthy with the Tofurkey Trot. This year’s race is a virtual event, and runners can run the distance of their choice. Much like tofu itself (the official mascot of Portland!), this race can be seasoned and formed into anything you imagine.

Participants will receive a race bib and Tofurkey Trot mask (the must-have fashion accessory for 2020), and proceeds go to animal sanctuaries that were damaged in the wildfires earlier this year, such as Green Acres Farm SanctuaryLighthouse Farm SanctuaryOdd Man Inn Animal RefugeOut to Pasture SanctuaryWildwood Farm Sanctuary, and Northwest VEG.

This Thanksgiving, join the fun of the Tofurkey Trot to show gratitude for a strong body, a cruelty-free meal, safe havens for animals, and, of course, a healthy imagination.
