There’s a new half marathon in town and it’ll be a good one! The inaugural Oregon Wetlands Half (and 10K and 5K) will debut on Sunday, February 23rd at the West Eugene natural wetlands preserve. Hosted by our friends at Eclectic Edge Racing, we know this is going to be great.
Advertised as “fast, flat, and scenic”, the courses run on the Fern Ridge bike path along the Amazon Creek, giving great opportunities for wildlife viewing and beautiful scenery…while still running your best race. There are course maps on the race website to peek at.
All distances start and finish at Eclectic Edge Racing’s headquarters at 10 AM – a generous morning allowing for a little sleep-in, a proper breakfast, and other pre-race routines and must-dos!
There will be awards presented to the overall male and female winners and the top three male and female finishers in each age groups. There is also a team award – the top five finishers on a team will have their times added for a total team score. The divisions are male, female, and mixed. There will also be random prizes, so be sure to look for your name or bib number around the finish line!
We are excited about this new race and hope you’ll check it out!
