Race Preview: 2020 Wurst Run 5K & 10K (Mt. Angel)

There are several places on the Wurst Run 5K & 10K website where they warn runners: “don’t get lost.” Now I kind of want to find out how many of their participants have gotten lost. And of those, if any are still lost.

For those that find their way to the starting line of Wurst Run, they are promised a challenging race that includes uphill, downhill, circling an abbey, running through a town, paved streets, gravel roads, and a downhill sprint to the finish. Trusting that you make it (and “don’t get lost”), after the finish line, all participants get entry to the Mt. Angel Volksfest. Live German music, German food, German beers, German costumes, and (of course) German sausage. And every finished gets a pint glass and a complementary beer, wine, or soda.

Maybe some of those lost folks went for the pint before the race.

Along with your registration, consider giving a donation to this event. Funds will be given to Kennedy High School Track and Field program and the Mount Angel Public Library. You can help out this sweet community, and the race event will match participant donations.

So, don’t get lost, get some sausage, and make a difference.
