Saying Goodbye to Gracie

Dear Run Oregon Readers,

The dear, sweet, seven-year-old daughter of one of our running community’s leaders passed away today after a valiant fight against cancer. Amazing Gracie, as she was known to many, was a creative, loving, beautiful girl.

Her dad, Jamie Williams, helped found and organize runs for BRU (Bethany Runners Unite), a free group run leaving from the Bethany Starbucks each Saturday. The first time I joined them for a run, Gracie had been recently diagnosed — this was more than a year ago. And today, she became an angel.

If you can, please make a contribution to the GoFundMe that was originally set up to help with Gracie’s care. This was created soon after her diagnosis, but you can get to know her at their facebook page that was used to friends, family, and the larger community fighting for Gracie.

Respecfully yours,
Run Oregon founder Kelly Barten

Gracie
