Race Preview: 2018 Turkey on the Run 12k/5k/Kids Race (Wenatchee)

If your Thanksgiving plans involve anything near Wenatchee, WA, come run in the 2018 Turkey on the Run on their 10th anniversary! This family friendly race includes a 12k, a 5k, and a kids run, with all distances welcome to walkers as well as runners.

This race, presented by Biosports Physical Therapy, begins and ends at Rotary Park which is located on the western outskirts of Wenatchee. The park will offer you some pretty views and the event raises money as well as non-perishable foods for the Women’s Resource Center of NCW. The race also continues it’s support of the Columbia Valley Girls On The Run program.

There will be a packet pick-up option on November 21st at Pybus Public Market as well as race day at Rotary Park. The race itself will begin at 9:00AM on Thanksgiving morning, November 22nd. The kid’s run will be held just prior to the official start of the 12k and 5k.

There will be 2 aid stations on the 12k course serving water, with one of them being at the turn around point. There will also be 1 aid station on the 5k course. There will be porta potties at the start and finish area, but there will not be any located on the course. The kid’s run is free, as it’s a small loop of approximately ½ mile in distance around the park. Registration will not be required for the kid’s run. Please do note that the course is open to traffic, so please stick to sidewalks and road shoulders as much as possible and be safe. If you’d like to preview the course, take a look at it here.

If you haven’t already made this race a Thanksgiving tradition, this is a great year to start.
