Race Preview: 2018 Glow Run 5k (Dallas)

There’s something special about a smaller town race!  Dallas, OR is a great town for runners with a beautiful city park, lovely river trail and inviting downtown!  As I drive to and from work each day, I almost always see someone out running! Someone once told me while visiting from out of town, “I see why you run, Dallas is beautiful.”

It’s no surprise to me, that there seems to be more and more 5k’s coming to town!  One being, the Dallas Glow Run! October 13th will be the Glow Runs 3rd year! With your registration fee you will not only get to run or walk, but you get a t-shirt, headlamp (it is a glow run after all), glow stick, Domino’s Pizza and a free drink ticket. There will also be prizes for the best dresses costume!

This year brings a few new and exciting changes! Local businesses are decorating areas of the course to make the 5k more entertaining as you run through.  You will then get to vote on what section you liked best! There will also be a foam machine at the finish line for everyone to run through! How cool is that!?

The race starts and ends at the Academy Building downtown, located at 187 SE Court St.  The course is a mixture of trails and road.  You can come walk or run.  Don’t forget to bring kids ages 6 and under for the kid’s dash. The Glow Run is raises funds for Christmas Cheer.  Christmas Cheer is a program that provides assistance to children and families in need in the Dallas area.
