Race Preview: 2018 Great Pumpkin Run (Corvallis)

I absolutely loved Halloween as a kid. Dressing up. Getting candy. Staying up way past my bedtime. It was fantastic. The tragedy was wearing that perfect costume just one time before it went back into the closet. If only I had known about running and walking events like Great Pumpkin Run.

This event, now in its 28th year (WOW!), includes a 1K obstacle course for all ages, a 10K run, and a 5K run or walk. There are awards for top finishers, plus a costume contest so no matter your speed, it’s your style that counts for this one. You can check out the website to see pictures from last year and gauge your competition.

All proceeds from the event go to Home Life, Inc: a local nonprofit that “has provided residential and support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 45 years. Come show off your creativity while strutting around Corvallis, and making a difference in the life of another person.
