Small Race Previews: 2017 Miles for Midwives 5k & Fight for Your Life 5k (St. Paul)

Champoeg State Park in Saint Paul is a great place for a race, and on September 23rd, you have the option of running the Miles for Midwives 5k there and can support quality healthcare at the same time!

This event is very family-friendly (strollers and dogs welcome!) and the paved paths make the course easy to navigate no matter who you are or what entourage you are running with. The route is a very simple out-and-back course where participants will run to a 5k station before turning around. You are encouraged to organize a theme, individually or in a group,  or do anything that unifies a team of your creation or cause! Or you could just share in the celebration surrounding midwifery and women’s health with others. Whatever the case, have fun with it! Informal and unofficial finish times will be available for interested parties as well

The proceeds from this event will benefit the Oregon Affiliate of the American College of Nurse Midwives,  which funds midwife education and legislative action that supports midwifery and access to healthcare for Oregon women and their families. 10% of your registration fee will goes to Baby Blues Connection, which supports women’s mental health during pregnancy and after baby.  Additionally, there will be a diaper drive to benefit Nurse-Family Partnership, so consider bringing a pack of diapers (any size will do!) for donation.
